Saskia’s and Hughes a Dream combination at Brighton

Saskia’s Dream has been shaping as if ready to cash-in on her falling mark and looks worth a wager to do so at 9/2 in the 5.30 at Brighton today.

Jane Chapple-Hyam’s mare last scored when landing a 7f contest on the all-weather at Lingfield last October where she only had to be ridden out to comfortably beat Aldermoor by 3/4 of a length off a mark of 68.

She now gets into this contest off 7lb lower, having shaped as if she could be coming back to form in hre last two starts.

In the first of those  she came fourth of 8 to Moma Lee on the turf at Lingfield where she chased the leaders on the outside before weakening inside the last to be beaten 4 lengths.

The five-year-old then ran better than her final finishing position indicates when fourth of 10 to Illustrious Prince at Newmarket where after being slolwy away she made good headway three from home and kept on to be beaten 3 lengths without being unduly knocked about.

The handicapper has dropped her another 1lb since that run, and she is now running off just 61 – her lowest rating ever.

That makes her look dangerously well-treated on the pick of her form, and thebooking of Richard Hughes certainly catches the eye.

He has partnered her just once before, with that run coming back at Newmarket in 2011 where she finsihed a solid third of 10 to White Frost in a class 3 contest at Newmarket off a mark of 73.

The fact that he is now back in the saddle suggest connections mean business and everything looks in place for a huge run.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Saskia’s Dream (9/2 bet365, BetVictor, Stan James – BOG)
