Saskia’s Dream handicapped to strike

Saskia’s Dream is back down below on her last winning mark and makes plenty of each-way appeal at 10/1 in the 5.45 at Kempton.

Jane Chapple-Fyam’s filly hasn’t been at her best in four runs this season, but didn’t shape as badly as her finishing position suggest last time out at Folkestone over 6f.

She blazed the trail in the hands of an inexperienced rider that day until weakening inside the last to be beaten 4 lengths into sixth of 8 behind Links Drive Lady, and arguably had too much use made of her early doors.

The daughter of Oasis Dream now has the services of Robert Havlin in the saddle, and the blinkers that she sported that day and caused her to run too free are now left off.

The step up in trip to 7f will also suit, and the handicapper has now dropped her another 2lb to a mark of 68.

That is 2lb lower than when she ran on strongly to account for Konstantin by 2 3/4 lengths at Lingfield last July over today’s trip.

She followed that up with a good second to Reposer here off 75, and then put in a fine effort off a mark of 77 when third of 10 to White Frost at Newmarket in a class 3 handicap.

That form looks particularly strong in the context of this class 5 contest, and at the odds on offer she looks worth a wager to bounce back and score and overdue success.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Saskia’s Dream (10/1 bet365, BetVictor – BOG)
