Silver Linnet set to strike

Silver Linnet is back down to a good mark and with the visor now re-fitted is of major interest at 6/1 in the 5.20 at Yarmouth.

John Butler’s mare landed a gamble on her reappearance at Kempton in the headgear when making all and being eased down to beat Good Timin’ by a length off a mark of 50.

She won with far more in hand than the winning margin suggests, and went on to finish a good third at Wolverhampton next time up where she started slowly and was held up before running on at the death.

Since thens he has not shown much, but those runs have been without the visor and having been on a mark of 65 for the first of three turf runs since that victory she is now down to just 55.

The five-year-old last scored on the turf at Ffos Las back in April 2010 off a mark of 68 and is now running off 13lb lower.

That gives her an outstanding chance form a handicapping perspective and it looks as if his shrewd handler has been working hard to get her down to a decent racing weight to land a punt.

The five-year-old has also shown all her best form when blazing a trail and has been held up in her last two starts without ever being put into the race.

It would be no surprise to see her revert to her attacking tactics now that she is well weighted again, and the refitting of the visor suggests that connections mean business.

The booking of Tom Queally also catches the eye, and at 6/1 she rates the best bet on the card.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 5pts win Silver Linnet (6/1 bet365 – BOG)
