Big Storm Coming is back down below his last winning mark and makes plenty of appeal at 6/1 in the 7.20 at Newcastle today now dropped back in trip and returned to the scene of his last succcess.
The gelding was last victorios 12 months ago in a 7f contest at this track off a mark of 72 when trained by Brian Ellison, and went on to post a couple of solid efforts to finish in the frame off 77 after joining Ruth Carr.
He failed to trouble the judge in his first four starts this season, but then ran much better when denied a clear run before finishing a 1 3/4 lengths fifth of seven to Altharoos over 1m 2f at Wetherby.
The four-year-old backed that up with a solid running on 2 1/2 length third to First Sargeant at Redcar, and raced keenly out wide last time out at Beverley when a tenderly handled fifth in a class 4 contest over 1m 2f.
Big Storm Coming seems to be coming to the boil, and the drop back down to 1m is a plus.
He is also a course and distance winner and has won two of his three starts at this venue, and now drops down into class 5 company off a reduced mark of 70.
