Subcontinent is strongly fancied cash-in on what looks a lenient mark and make a winning on handicap debut in the 1.20 at Sandown today.
The gelding was a sueful performer on the level when trained by Charlie Appleby and ratde 90 at his best.
He has failed to make the frame in four starts over hurdles since joining Venetia Williams but ha shaped quite nicely in the last two of those at Chepstow without being knocked about.
In the first he kept on to finish an 11 1/2 length fourth of 15 to Chooseyourweapon who is now rated 132.
The runner-up Golden Sunrise has also won since off an official rating of 123.
Subcontinent has since finished an 11 lenbth sixth of 16 to Diablo De Rehout in a race that has worked out well.
The fourth home Cadeyrn has won since, as has the fifth home Jammin Masters who is rated 124.
Those runs suggest an opening mark of just 113 for Subcontient could well be on the lenient side, especially in relation to his flat rating.
He also looks to have been brought aliong with handicaps in mind and looks a potential big improver now going down that route.
