Potters Legend has been disappointing this season but has slipped markedly in the weights as a result and looks worth a punt to bounce back in the 4.05 at Sandown today now eased in grade.
Lucy Wadham’s charge won his first two starts over fences last season and went on to post some solid efforts in defeat, including when a cracking 3 1/2 length fourth of 24 to Domesday Book in the Kim Muir at the Cheltenham Festival off a mark of 139.
That is strong form and Potters Legend was aslo far from disgarced on his final start last season at Aintree off 140 when fourth of 16 to Sizing Codelco.
Things haven’t gone to plan this season, with his jumoing letting him down on more than one occasion.
However, he has been running in some competotive handicaps and didn’t run too badly when seventh of 20 to Totall Recall in the Grade 2 Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury.
He also competed in a Grade 3 last time out at Cheltenham and now drops down into class 3 company in which he has a 40% strike rate aving won two of his five starts and been placed on another occasion.
Potters Legenmd is also now racing off a reduced rating of 130, a career-low, and that mnakes him a massive player at the weights on the pick of his form.
