Torres can score again at Kempton

Torres Del Paine looks decent value to follow up his recent course and distance win in the 6.10 at Kempton this evening.

Brett Johnson’s gelding did us a favour when landing a gamble last month, where after being backed in from 4/1 to 5/4 favourite he only had to be ridden out to beat Strategic Action by a neck.

That win came off a career-low mark of 50, and a 4lb rise looks lenient and still makes him extremely well-treated on his back form.

The seven-year-old  won three times over course and distance in 2012 when trained by Jimmy Fox, scoring in class 5 handicaps off 64 and 70 and winning a claimer on the last occasion off a rating of 75.

That suggest that his current mark of 54 should be more than exploitable in this class 6 contest, especially as his confidence will have been boosted by getting his head in front last time out.

The fact that all five of his career successes have come over course and distance is another plus, and with David Probert in the saddle again and a good draw to exploit in stall 3 everything looks in place for a huge run.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Torres Del Paine (6/1 bet365, Betfred – BOG)
