Traditional Bob of major interest on handicap debut

Traditional Bob makes his eagerly awaited handicap debut in the 4.10 at Stratford and is of major interest at 8/1.

Graham McPherson’s charge has caught the eye on numerous occasions in maiden hurdles without troubling the judge and looks nicely treated off an opening mark of 113.

The seven-year-old was not knocked about at all when finishing sixth of 10 to Ambion Wood at Chepstow three starts ago, and was again given a tender ride when a never nearer sixth of 14 to Vulcanite next time up at Southwell.

Although beaten 25 lengths that day he made good headway from the rear into mid division three out and shaped as if being prepared with handicaps in mind.

It was a similar story again last time out at Ffos Las where he plugged on to finish fifth of 12 to Makethemostofnow on soft ground, and better he looks the type who will appreciate the drying ground.

There is know doubt in my mind that he has the potential to leave his form well behind now tackling handicaps, and his shrewd connections look to have found him a nice opening to exploit.

It will be interesting to see if the money comes for him, but he looks too big a price to ignore at 8/1 and at those odds rates the best bet of the day.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 5pts win Traditional Bob (8/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
