Two lovelies for Lingfield

10/1 Requisite ready to roll

Requisite ran a stormer in a listed contest last time out and makes plenty of each-way appeal at 10/1 in the 2.20 at  Lingfield.

Ian Woods’ mare belied her odds of 125/1 when staying on well to finish sixth of 16 to the useful Sirius Prospect over 6f at Doncaster last time out.

She had some very classy sorts behind her and although transferring listed form back into handicaps can often prove costly it’s hard to get away from her claims in this if running anywhere near that level.

The six-year-old is certainly well treated in this class 4 contest on her run at Donny, and given that she has proven form on this surface and is only 1lb higher than her last win at Kempton back in September there is no reason why she should not go close.

Her hold-up style does mean that she needs some luck in running, but she should get the strong pace she needs to be seen at her best and has a potentially good draw in stall 3 from where she can tuck in behind the leaders and hopefully be produced late and fast.

Another plus is that today’s 7f journey is her optimum trip, and with Joe Fanning in the saddle everything looks in place for a huge run.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Requisite (10/1 Hills, Victor Chandler – BOG)

Dominium too big to ignore at 20s

Dominium will be suited by the step up back in trip to 7f in the 2.50 at Lingfield and looks overpriced at 20/1 having caught the eye last time out.

The gelding showed plenty of pace in a 6f contest at Wolverhampton and only weakened late on to finish 5th of 11 to Desert Icon.

Eventually beaten just under 3 lengths, he ran far better than his finishing position suggests having tried to thrown down a challenge on the unfavoured inside over a trip which is short of his best.

Jeremy Gask’s charge has produced all his best efforts over this afternoon’s 7f journey, and is only 2lb higher than his last win which came in a decent handicap at Newmarket back in July.

He ran on really well that day to beat Avon Lady by a a short-head and the winner has gone on to land a conditions event at Leicester and finish a highly creditable fourth in a listed contest at this track to earn an official rating of 94.

That form looks rock solid in the context of today’s contest, and given that Dominium was only receiving 3lb from Avon Lady he looks potentially well treated off a mark of 76 if putting in a similar effort.

Given that he looked to be coming back to something like his best last time he certainly looks overpriced at 20/1 and at those odds has to be worth an each-way interest for a trainer who has a near 20% strike rate at the track.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Dominium (20/1 bet365, Victor Chandler – BOG)
