Warrior Of Light the standout wager at Newmarket

Warrior Of Light scored with plenty in hand last time out and rates a solid bet at 5/2 to follow-up in the 3.20 at Newmarket today.

The David Lanigan trained three-year-old had shaped as if he could be ahead of his mark in three runs this season prior to making all and beating Quest For More by a cosy 2 lengths at Ffos Las last month off a rating of 90.

The son of High Chaparral stayed on strongly to score with more in hand than the winning margin suggests, and the extra furlong today should be right up his street.

The form also looks strong as the fronnt pair pulled 6 lengths clear of the third, and the runner-up has since gone on to run a cracker at York earlier in the week to finish runner-up in a competitive 16-runner handicap.

Although Warrior Of Light has been raised 8lb for that victory, he looks the type who has plenty more to offer and his trainer is in flying form at present.

With conditions ideal and Ted Durcan in the saddle he rates the standout bet on the card.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 4pts win Warrior Of Light (5/2 generally available – use BOG firms)
