Watford odds-against to stay up in Premier League

Sky Bet make Watford 6/5 to avoid relegation next season after securing promotion to the Premier League.

The Hornets moved four points clear at the top of the Sky Bet Championship thanks to a 2-0 win at Brighton in the early kick-off yesterday before watching Norwich and Middlesbrough suffer late heartache, with the Canaries held 1-1 at Rotherham while Middlesbrough fell to a 4-3 defeat at Fulham.

Sky Bet make Slavisa Jokanovic’s men 1/5 to secure the title ahead of 7/2 shots Bournemouth, who are just 1/20 to join the Hornets in automatic promotion, while they are 8/1 to go on and secure a top-half finish in the Premier League next season.

Shrewsbury also secured promotion from League 2 on Saturday and are 9/2 for back-to-back promotions and 12/1 to be crowned League 1 champions next season.

Tranmere and Cheltenham both saw their stays in the Sky Bet Football League ended, with Rovers fancied to bounce back at 6/1 to win the Conference while the Robins are 14/1.
