Fossa has been given a chance by the handicapper and looks worth siding with at 12/1 in the 5.50 at Wolverhampton this evening.
Dean Ivory’s gelding is on a loing losing run having not scored since landing a 7f handciap at this venue on the old polytrack surface back in September 2013 off a mark of 67.
However he has run well to make the frame on two occasions this year, finishing a 1/4 length second of 11 to Baltic Prince at Kempton off 65 and a solid third to the thriving French Press at Chelmsford two starts back off 63.
He is now able to race in this off 62, 5lb lower than when last successful, and the lowest rating he has run off in over two years having been rated as high as 73 in that period.
It gives Fossa a big chance at the weights on his Tapeta debut, and his record on the all-weather suggests the surface should not be a problem.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Fossa (12/1 Coral, Ladbrokes – BOG)
