Well-treated Tenhoo looks tasty at 12/1

Tenhoo has shaped as if returning to form and looks worth siding with at 12/1 in the 5.20 at Haydock today having dropped to a dangerous mark.

Eric Alston’s nine-year-old was last successful in a 1m 4f contest at this venue back in June 2013 when beating Zenafire by a head off a mark of 66.

He went on to finish a solid third off 70 and is now able to race in this off just 56.

That is 10lb lower than when last successful and the lowest mark the veteran has run off for four years.

It gives Tenhoo every chance at the weights, and he caught the eye in his last two starts at Newcastle and shaped as if coming to the boil.

In the first of those he stayed on late after a slow start to finish a 4 1/2 length never nearer sixth of 11 to Eltheeb, and he then posted a similar effort last time out when eighth of 12 to Rockabilly Riot and never really put into the contest at any stage.

Tenhoo has been dropped another 2lb since the latter, and with Rachel Richardson in the saddle whose claim takes another 7lb off his back is too well-treated to ignore at a venue where he has twice been successful.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Tenhoo (12/1 Paddy Power, Ladbrokes – BOG)
