Totally Magic has hecome dangerously well-treated and at 6/1 rates the standout bet on today’s card at Newcastle (5.15).
Richard Whittaker’s six-year-old mare is a dual course and distance winner, with the last of those sucesses coming back in October 2016 off a mark of 61.
Totally Magic has not scored since but backed up that run with a fine second off 65, again over CD, and posted some solid efforts in defeat to make the frame on six occasions last year from marks ranging from 61 to 64.
She also ran well here back in September when runner-uo off 54 and is now able to race off 52. That is a career-low and gives her outstanding claims at the weights on the pick of her form.
Totally Magic also comes into the race having shaped well last time out over course and distance 26 days ago when a 2 1/4 length fourth of 14 to Amherst Rock whne doing too much too soon and weakening late on.
That run suggested her time was near and if building on it Totally Magic looks the one to beat in this in the hands of Phil Dennis who takes another 3lb of her back with his claim.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Totally Magic (8/1 Betfair, Paddy Power – BOG)
