Well-weighted Nave a solid bet at Epsom

Nave is on a handy mark at present and rates a solid bet at 3/1 to take advantage in the 6.05 at Epsom this evening now returned to the scene of his last success.

David Simcock’s gelding slammed Royal Etiquette by 8 lengths fast ground off a mark of 67 at Windsor and went on to follow-up in good over course and distance when easily beating Tingo In The Tale by 4 lengths off 73.

He then got put up to a mark of 81 and ran creditably off it to finish fourth on two occasions on the all-weather at Kempton.

Nave now gets into this off just 69, 4lb lower than when last successful over CD, having shaped encouragingly in just two starts this season, and that gives him a massive chance at the weights.

In the first of those he finished a not knocked about sixth of 10 to Starwatch over 1m 2f at Windsor, and he then kept on from the rear to finish a never nearer fiftyh of 7 to Sunny Future last time out at Salisbury.

With those two runs under his belt, the seven-year-old should now be spot on to do himself justice and he looks to have an outstnading chnace at the weights for a stable who are in good form at present.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 4pts win Nave (3/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
