World Cup Betting Preview: Costa Rica v Greece

Costa Rica look a rock solid bet at 13/8 with Paddy Power to beat Greece in their game tonight (9pm KO, Live on ITV1).

Los Ticos registered deserved victories over Uruguay and Italy in the group stages, and were clearly not bothered about turning up in their 0-0 draw with England as the match meant nothing as they had already qualified.

I expect the real Costa Rica to turn up tonnight, and they now face a side who have scored just twice in nine games at the World Cup and managed to keep just once in that run.

The Greeks will go out and try and defend from the off, and Costa Rica have enough talent to prise open the back-line and get the job done.

Joel Campbell has had an excellent tournament for Costa Rica, and netted the first of his side’s goals in their 3-1 win over Uruguay.

At 7/1 with BetVictor and Paddy Power he looks well worth a punt in the first goalscorer market.

Costa Rica to win to nil also makes plenty of appeal at 27/10 with Coral given that they are yet to concede a goal from open play at this World Cup and Greece have no real cutting edge in attack.

In the correct score market, I like the look of the general 11/1 on offer for Costa Rica to win 2-0.
