World Cup Betting Preview: Iran v Nigeria

Nigeria are odds-on to win their Group F game against Iran (8pm KO, Live on BBC1), but the draw looks the value bet at 13/5 with bet365.

African Cup of Nations champions Nigeria have been backed from odds against into a top priced 19/20 after booking their place in the finals by topping their CONCACAF group and beating Ethiopia in a play-off.

However, they have struggled in recent warm-up friendlies, including draws with Scotland and Greece, and a 2-1 defeat at the hands of USA last time.

That doesn’t make them odds-on shots in my book, especially against an Iran side  managed by former Manchester United assistant and Real Madrid boss Carlos Queiroz who have suffered just one defeat in their past 12 fixtures.

To me this game has draw written all over it, and I also don’t think that there will be many, if any, goals.

Ladbrokes are a standout 17/2 about the game ending 0-0, and that looks well worth a  wager in the least inpsiring game of the day.
