World Cup Betting Preview: Portugal v Ghana

Ghana are out to 3/1 with Sky Bet to win their game agaisnt Portugal today (5pm KO, Live on BBC1) after two key players were sent home, but still look worth siding with to come out on top.

Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng have been expelled from the squad for alleged indiscipline.

A statement on the Ghana Football Association website  said both players had “been suspended indefinitely”.

It added Boateng had used “vulgar verbal insults targeted at coach Kwesi Appiah” and said Muntari was guilty of an “unprovoked physical attack on an executive committee member”.

The Black Stars still have an outside chance of qualifying for the knockout phase of the tournament, and face a Portuguese side who have performed very poorly in their opening two games.

They were thrashed by Germany, and needed a last gasp winner to snatch a 2-2 draw against the USA.

Their star player Cristiano Ronaldo is clearly not 100% fit, and if Ghana put up the attacking disaply they showed in their 2-2 draw with Germany they are good enough to win this.

Asamoah Gyan has improvced throughout the tournament and looks worth a wager at 7/1 with bet365 and Stan James in the first goalscorer market.

Both sides to score also looks a solid bet at 1/2 with Ladbrokes in what promises to be an end-to-end atacking affair.
