Count Guido Deiro revels in the mud and looks worth sidimng with at 8/1 in the 3.50 at Ffos Las today now switched back to hurdles from what looks a handy mark.

The Nigel Twiston-Davies trained gelding came good at the second time of asking over hurdles when winning on soft ground at Towcester, showing good battling qualities to hold on by a head.

He then had his attention quickly switche to chasing after just three spins over the smaller obstacles, and scored in good style at Wincanton when making all to score by 2 1/4 lengths off a mark of 121 on heavy ground.

The eight-year-old went on to score on heavy ground at Lingfield off 124 after a 272 day break, and was far from disgraced when fourth to Unioniste in a class 2 chase at Sandwon on soft ground off 131.

He now swiches back to hurdles from a mark of 124, and that makes him look well-treared on the pick of his form in this class 3 contest.

Fintess is also unikely to be an issue as Count Guido Deiro has won after a break before, and the bottomless ground will hold no fears whatsoever.

With Jamie Bargary in the saddle taking another 5lb off with his claim, Count Guido Deiro looks weighted to run a huge race.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Count Guido Deiro (8/1 BetVictor, Paddy Power, Ladbrokes, William Hill – BOG)
