It’s all change in the X Factor betting following last night’s live show and Marcus Collins is the new favourite at a top priced 7/2.

He has replaced Janet Devlin at the head of the market and the flame-haired Irish singer failed to impress the judges with her version of the Jackson 5 classic “I Want You Back”

She struggled with the change of pace from her usual slow and moody numbers and even forget the words at one point – leaving the judges to deliver some critical comments.

Gary Barlow, told her: “For me, that performance just wasn’t right. I think you’ve lost your identity. You are good at ballads but this just didn’t work.”

Tulisa agreed adding: “I think I’m starting to see you have your own style which is unique and suits you. Watching you try something else tonight, you looked uncomfortable and you forgot the words. Maybe you need to stick to what you are good at?”

The bookies reaction was swift and she is now out to 4/1 (from 11/4 fav) – the biggest price she has been since the audition stage.

Of the other contenders Craig Colton continues to be supported into 9/2 ahead of 6/1 chance Misha B, while The Risk are out to 13/2 having disputed favouritism 10 days ago.

Little Mix are 10/1 to break the so-called ‘girl group hoodoo’ while Jonny Robinson can be backed at 40/1 with Paddy Power.

Kitty Brucknell is a general 50/1 ahead of 125/1 shot Frankie Cocozza.

Given the outright prices it’s little surprise that Frankie is 2/9 with Sky Bet to be eliminated after being described as “bad karaoke” by judge Louis Walsh.

The layers have it as a match for the second elimination on a night where two will go, with Kitty evens and Jonny 7/4 – it’s 10/1 bar these three.
