So many people thought that with all the crackdown on adult content shared on social media that we would at least always have the safe haven of Twitter and their more lax attitude to body parts and BDSM. Alas, our last lexicon of lust appears to be following suit by editing their community standards to ban anything that they feel is unacceptable. Unfortunately, they also show their lack of understanding about the adult industries and communities by lumping sex in with violence in most of their rules. They are also regularly closing down sex workers accounts with no explanation, no rhyme or reason.
When Tumblr made the decision to remove all NSFW accounts they clearly assumed that everyone would stick around but it was swiftly obvious that the mass migration to Twitter would affect its content levels and viewer numbers. Now, I am not saying that removing all such accounts/contents will be the death of social media, it is, of course, being used for many other reasons but it will still have a large impact.
And where will this leave the adult industry? Pushed out into the cold, hiding in the shadows, being sent to the ‘dark web’?
Further changes to their rules and regulations is a crackdown on scheduled posts and duplicating posts either on the same account or across multiple accounts owned by the same person(s). If you have to regularly post the same information for your business then change the wording each time so it is not an exact duplicate.
This weekend I am relaxing and having a great time at the Swingfields ‘Aurora’ Festival. This brilliant adult festival is a mecca for all those with a penchant for swinging and a bit of kink. I will tell you more about this next week.
There are many ways you can get involved and be a part of my weekly column. Let me know your thoughts on this week’s column, email to discuss an interview or review or to have your questions answered.
Make sure to get your club and party reviews coming in, tell the world which are the best and worst swinging and BDSM venues that you have attended. Maybe you have found a hidden gem or have been disappointed by a well-known location, either way, tell the rest of the community.
Right then party people, until next time – stay decadent!
