He Can Ring My Bell

Ridiculously small fields at Leicester (not a single field has eight or more runners) is a pain to each way punters including me, meaning Catterick is this afternoon’s meeting of choice. Ex-jockey Micky Hammond is a shrewd trainer who rarely gets as much credit as he deserves despite continuing to compete effectively without the resources of some, and if he brings Mister Bells to the track in the same form as last time out, he looks to have every chance of a follow up victory.

The ten-year-old won by over four lengths eased down over course and distance last time out and clearly gets on well with claiming jockey Emma Smith-Chaston who is on board again here. On the down side, he has been put up 7lb for that victory, and has the dropped in class Twoshotsoftequila to beat according to the betting but he does get 16lb from the early favourite which may well tip the balance in his favour.
