Irish raider Redwood Boy looks nicely treated on the pick opf his form in the 3.20 at Wincanton today and decent value at 6/1 to land the spoils.
Shark Hanlon’s gelding has only had six starts over hurdles and shaped well last time out following 306 days on the sidelines to finish fifth of 14 to Colms Dream in a maiden at Downpatrick.
Prior to that he had run a very good race to finish fifth of 20 to Mydor in a handicap at Tipperary off a mark of 90.
The six-year-old chased the leaders until getting slightly hampered at the sixth and kept on at the one pace to be beaten 16 1/2 lengths.
The winner, to whom Redwood Boy was conceding 11lb, has gone on to score twice since and is now rated 130 and the form looks strong in the context of this contest.
It makes Redwood Boy look handily weighted off a mark of 95, and he should also come on for his recent outing.
Off bottom weight of 10st 6lb and with Paddy Brennan in the saddle, he looks weighted to take all the beating.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Redwood Boy (6/1 Boylesports, Paddy Power – BOG)
