6/1 Standing Ovation can collect at Cheltenham

Standing Ovation looks to have plenty going for him in the 3.45 at Cheltenham today and at 6/1 rates the best bet on a cracking card.

David Pipe’s charge was in terrific form when rattling-up a four-timer in the second half of 2013, and rah a cracker at the Festival here in March when sixth of 23 to Holywell off a mark of 131.

The form of that race looks strong with the winner going on to bolt up at Aintree, and Standing Ovation now gets into this off 2lb lower.

That makes him look on a handy mark, and although he has not been seen in action since unluckily unseating his rider in the Topham at Aintree he is unlikely to be found wanting for fitness given his connections.

The seven-year-old also remains open to further progress, and looks to have a great racing weight off just 10st 6lb.

He receives lumps of weight from the favourite Le Bec who has to shoudler top-weight off 11st 12lb after just four starts over fences, and with the in-form Tom Scudamore in the saddle looks the one they all have to beat for a yard that love nothing more than to have winners at the track.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Standing Ovation (6/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
