Class-dropping Resiliency worth a wager at 14/1

Resiliency has been given a chnace by the handicapper and looks worth siding with at 14/1 in the 4.50 at York today now eased in grade.

The gelding was a Down Royal maiden winner in 2014 when trained by David Wachman, and has shaped well on a couple of occasions in just six starts since joining Mick Appleby.

They include when a solid 2 3/4 length fourth on nine to Elidor in a class 2 contset at Newmarket off a mark of 90 when Resliency stuck to the task well.

The five-year-old has also run well in two starts back from a 256 day break, and should now be spot on to do himself justice.

Resiliency is also now able to race off a reduced rating of 84, and drops into class 3 company having competed at class 2 level in all his starts since joining Appleby.

That gives him a big shout at the weights, and another plus is that he now gets the professional services of Robert Winston in the saddle having been ridden by a 5lb claimer in his last two outings.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Resiliency (14/1 bet365, BetVictor, Boylesports, Coral, Ladbrokes – BOG)
