Fibs And Flannel a Lingfield lovely

Fibs And Flannel ran a very promising race for his new stable last time out and at 9/2 has to be of serious interest in the 2.45 at Lingfield.

The gelding took advantage of a falling mark to score three starts ago in a selling handicap at Southwell off 60, after which he joined Willie Musson.

He was sent off the 7/4 fav to follow up on his first start for his new connections, but disappointed and could finish only a well beaten third to Eza Church.

However he left that running behind at Kempton when an unlucky in running and very eye-catching 6th of 14 to Qeethaara.

After being slowly away and held up at the rear he was making good headway to throw down a challenge  at the furlong mark before encountering traffic problems and having to be switched at a crucial stage.

Once in the clear he ran on strongly to be beaten just 2 1/4 lengths and there is little doubt in my mind that he would have gone very close with a clear passage.

The winner has since gone on to frank the form by going in again earlier in the week, and it looks solid in the context of this contest.

The selection runs off the same mark of 64 this afternoon, and his shrewd handler looks to have found him a nice opening to exploit.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Fibs And Flannel (9/2 generally available – use BOG firms)
