Fight Preview – Billy Joe Saunders v Gary Boulden

Perhaps the slowest progressing former Olympian Billy Joe Saunders 10-0 (7kos) bids to win his first professional title when he takes on Southern Area Champion Gary Boulden 5-2 tonight (live on BoxNation, Sky ch456).

Saunders, in my opinion, could eventually prove to be the best of the bunch and it’s a shame the hand problems are hindering him so badly. He puts punches together really well and he isn’t afraid to mix up his attacks from head to body and needs an impressive win here to move up the ranks and be fighting at a level I feel he needs.

Boulden is not particularly a puncher of note and I will imagine Saunders will stalk him from the opening minutes of the fight and look to apply the pressure quickly as he has done in previous fights.

I feel this is a routine assignment and feel the bookmakers have underestimated the chances of an early night for Billy Joe.

Daily Sport recommended bets:

0.50 pts Billy Joe Saunders to win in round 1 – 7/1 William Hill

0.25 Pts Billy Joe Saunders to win in round 2 – 13/2 William Hill
