Flying Scotsman Anderson steams into quarter-finals

Gary Anderson has hardened at the head of the PDC Darts World Championship market after an impressive victory last night.

The “Flying Scotsman” Scot stormed into the last eight  with a stylish 4-1 win over Colin Lloyd.

He secured a ton-plus average as he swept past the former world No.1 to stay on course in the £1million event at London’s Alexandra Palace.

Anderson, who will now face “The Wizard of Oz” Simon Whitlock in the quarter-finals, said: “I’ll just keep on going. I heard a few people say during the afternoon that I would lose so that fired me up.

“I’m warming up in this tournament now and it looks as though I’ve woken up. Let’s see what happens now.

Punters certainly think it’s a case of full steam ahead now for Anderson.

heis as short as 9/4 with Sky Bet and Paddy Power, although there’s bits of 11/4 available.

Following the exit of Dave Chisnall, Adrian Lewis and James Wade are each available at 4/1 ahead of 6/1 shot Whitlock.

Andy Hamilton is a standout 14s with Boylesports and it’s 16/1 bar.
