Live greyhound action tonight on Racing Post Greyhound TV (Sky 212) comes from Peterborough and Romford and there are three bets that look cracking value at the odds on offer.
In the 10.21 at Romford, Trap 6 Droopys Approach looks way overpriced at 9/2.
Paul Young’s dog is the sole wide seed in the line-up and is blessed with plenty of early pace.
The stripes should enable him to him to avoid any scrimmaging on the inside and gain a lovely pitch at the first bend from where he can exploit his backstraight pace to the full.
He had risen through the ranks and been running well in A1 company prior to a solid run to be third in an Open at the track last time out when slowly away and getting bumped at the first and the return to graded company looks sure to suit.
I had him priced up at around the 5/2 mark for this so the 9/2 on offer looks huge and should be snapped up.
In the S1 that follows on the card at 10.26 the 4/1 on offer for Trap 6 Balmi also looks terrific value.
Danny Mullins’ dog has the quickest time in the line-up of 35.76 gained in the grade and is also capable of producing sub 14 second sectionals to the first bend.
If he can produce one of those starts he is going to take a great deal of stopping as he is a strong sort who runs on powerfully at the death.
He also has a good draw in the stripes, and to me he should be clear favourite for this at around 11/4 so the 4s on offer looks way out of line.
At Peterborough the bet that stands out is Trap 5 Rastafari Raz in the finale at 10.31 at a massive looking 9/2.
The dog is closely matched with his rivals on the clock, but looks to have a terrific draw to exploit.
Those in traps 1 to 4 all like the rails, and there is a distinct possibility of a coming together at the first bend.
That will ensure a trouble free run to the bend for the selection whose last two sectionals of 4.64 and 4.62 are good enough to clear the two on his immediate inside.
He like to move middle to-wide when leading the traps and that should give him acres of space to use his pace to the full.
