Kasbaan weighted to go well on first start for Appleby

Kasbaan looks a fascinating contender on his first start fo Mick Appleby in the 7.45 at Kemptonn today and worth siding with at 5/1.

This four-year-old came goo at the third time os asking when in the care of Owen Burrows and showing a smart urn of foot to easily beat Welsh Lord by 3 1/4 lengths at Lingfield.

The runner-up is a fair sort who is now rated 92 on the all-weather and the third home Hareeq, who was beaten a further 4 1/2 lengths, has won since to be rated 85.

That gives the form a solid look and suggest Kasbaan is potentially well-treated off his current rating of 84.

Although he has failed to sparkle in two subsequent outings, having been initially given a handicap mark of 89, they have both been on thr turf and he could prove a difefrent proposition now back on the polytrack if the switch to Appleby has the desired effect.

He has done well with similay types and the cheekpices also now go on for the first time.

So in what doesn’t look the strongest of class 3 contests, Kasbaan has more going for him than most and looks the one to be on.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Kasbaan (5/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
