Katebird lurks on a handy mark at present and makes plenty of appeal in the 3.50 at Doncaster today now returned to a sounder surface.
The five-year-old filly was faurly useful on the level when trained by Mark Johnston and rated 76 at her peak.
She has had seven starts over hurdles since joining Oliver Greenall and posted improved efforts when going down the handicap route.
In the first at Uttoxeter, Katebird kept on nicely from off the pace to finish a never nearer 8 1/2 length third of nine to G For Ginger off a rating of 94 having been short of room when bypassing the second last.
She backed that up with a solid stating on third of 13 to Chimes Of Dylan at Worcester off the same rating.
The second home that day Really Super, who finished 3 3/4 lengths in front of her and was giving 8lb, went on to win her next two starts before finishing 10th of 20 to First Assignment in a competitive class 3 at Cheltenham off 122.
That gives the form a solid look in relation to this class 5 affair and suggests a revised mark of 95 for Katebird is exploitable.
Altough disappoiting last time out at Uttoxter, she may well have needed the run after a break and seemed to get bogged down in the testing ground so better is expected now she has underfoot conditions in her favour.
