Mariet looks to have moire going for him than most in the 5.25 at Plumpton today and rates the best bet on the card at 7/1 now eased in grade.
Suzy Smith’s gelding ran very well when a 2 length runner-up to Lightentertainment at Fontwell last May, and the winner has gone to to score four times since and is now rated 130.
Mariet then went one better to get back off the mark on seasonal reapperance over course and distance back in October, staying on strongly after being clear two from home to readily beat The Selecctor by 1 1/2 lenhgths off a mark of 90 in a class 5 contest.
The six-year-old was then far from disgraced in a class 4 affair at Fontwell when fifth of 13 to Definite Future off 97, before finishing just ninth of 10 to Prouts Pub in a similar affair at the same venue.
The handicapper has since dropped Mariet another 1lb to 95, and that gives him every chance at the weights judged on his win over CD now dropped back down into class 5 company.
He is also one of just a few in the line-up to have winning form to her name, and has far less questions to answer than most of his rivals.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Mariet (7/1 bet365, BetVictor, Boylesports – BOG)
