Red Devils bankers to beat Benfica

Manchester United look an outstanding bet at 4/6 to beat Benfica in their Champions League clash at Old Trafford tonight (7.45pm KO, Sky Sports Interactive).

Sir Alex Ferguson’s side have won six of their eight previous meetings against the Portuguese side in the competition, losing once and sharing the points in their last meeting back in September.

They have also won each of their three home games, and no Portuguese side has managed to beat the Red Devils (in 10 games) on their own patch.

Those are ominous stats despite the fact that the visitors are are unbeaten after four games in the Champions League group stage.

Wayne Rooney is also expected to be fit enough to play a part, and in Ryan Giggs they have a player who has scored three goals in four CL games against Benfica.

Giggs is a 12/1 to net the opener and that looks worth a small punt as he has an excellent goal scoring record on the European stage.

I simply can’t see any other outcome than a victory for United and they have to be the bet of the night at 4/6 with Hills and Victor Chandler.
