Rooney can fire United to victory

Manchester United take on QPR at Loftus Road today (12pm KO, Live on Sky Sports 1) and look bankers at 8/15 to win at a ground where they haven’t lost for 22 years.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s side have won eight and lost none of the last 11 meetings with the Hoops in all competitions and come into the game on the back of thrashing Wolves 4-1 to extend their unbeaten run in the league to eight .

Sir Alex Ferguson’s young guns have also won five of their last six games and conceded just two goals in the process despite having their squad stretched.

This game really should hold no fears for them, and with Rooney and Nani back among the goals a comfortable victory looks on the cards.

Rooney ended a barren spell when netting twice against Wolves, and he is the type of player who is very difficult to stop when he gets the bit between his teeth.

He is a top priced 7/2 with bet365 to open the scoring and that looks terrific value given some firms go just 5/2.

United to win 2-0 or 3-0 is my idea of the most likely outcome, and those scorelines can be backed at 8/1 with Hills and 10/1 with bet365, Coral and Hills.
