Well-treated Street fancied to Power home

Street Power runs off a career-low mark in the 3.30 at Lingfield today and rates a solid bet at 4/1 to take advantage and land the spoils now dropped into class 6 company for the first time.

Jeremy Gask’s eight-year-old has nine successes to his name, with seven of those coming on the polytrack surface – including once over course and distance.

His last success came on the turf at Ascot back in July 2012, where he held on gamely by a short-head to beat ladyship in a competitive 18-runner class 3 contest off a mark of 77.

Since then his form has been very hot and miss, but he has run well on a couple of occasions at Kempton and shaped very well there last time out when fifth of 14 to Emkanaat over 7f.

He was awkaward at the start that day but thne travelled very strongly into the contest and after holding every chance a furlong out weakened inside the last and lost 3 places close home.

It was a highly ecnouraging effort and one which suggested it would not be long before he took advantage of his plummeting mark when dropped back in trip.

He now gets his ideal trip of 6f, over which he has been successful 5 times, and gets into this off a mark of just 64 – 13lbs lower than when last successful.

That gives him outsnading claims at the weights, especially as he is also now dropped into class 6 company for the first time in his career.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Street Power (4/1 Stan James – BOG)
