Well-treated Whipphound worth a wager at 14/1

Whipphound has a good record at Bath and with underfoot conditions to suit looks cracking value at 14/1 in the 4.10 there today.

Mark Brisbourne’s chrage has run three times at the venu, making the frame on two occasions and winning once.

The success came on soft ground over 5f back in April where he came with a strong run from well off the pace to win going away by 2 lengths from Perfect Muse off a mark of 61.

Whipphound followed that up with a solid second to Euroquip Boy on soft ground at Warwick over 6f off 68, and also ran very well over course and distance five starts back when runner-up to Ishiamber off 70.

The six-year-old now gets into this off just 65, and that gives him major claims at the weights on the pick of his form.

He also has the services of Cam Hardie in the saddle who is terrific value forn his 3lb claim, and taking that into account is just 1lb higher than when last successful.

Although Whipphound does have to bounce back from a disappoiting run at Leicester last time out, the return to this venue is a big plus, the ground will hold no fears and he has been given a huge chance by the handicapper.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Whipphound (14/1 bet365, William Hill – BOG)
