Winds worth a wager at Wolves

All The Winds didn’t get any luck in running last time out and looks worth another chance at 16/1 in the 1.30 at Wolverhampton today.

Shaun Lycett’s gelding was slowly away on his first start for 174 days over course and distance last week but was beginning to make some headway when carried badly wide three out.

That effectively put an end to any chance he had and Leonna Mayor then allowed him to come home in his own time to be beaten just over 6 lengths into 8th of 11 behind Mica Mika.

To me he ran far better than the end results suggests and with that run under his belt he should be much sharper this afternoon.

The smaller field will hopefully not result in the same traffic problem that he encountered on that occasion, and he is definitely capable of winning races off his current mark of 80.

He was last successful of that rating when scoring at Kempton just over a year ago where he came with a strong late run from off the pace to beat Where’s Susie by a length in a class 4 contest.

The eight-year-old’s form was subsequenkly disappoiting, but he did put in a good effort when a 2 3/4 length fourth of 11 to Ramona Chase in a class 3 contest at Windsor last May off a mark of 81 and a repeat of that would see him go close in this.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts  win All The Winds (16/1 Hills, Paddy Power – BOG)
