Wolves v Sunderland – The Preview

Today’s live Sky Sports clash sees Wolves play host to Sunderland (4pm KO, SS1) and with both sides in woeful form the draw has to be the value bet at 12/5.

Both sides are hovering over the relegation zone, and even though Sunderland fans will be expecting better following the departure of Steve Bruce they are likely to have to wait until Martin O’Neill officially takes charge before getting back on the winning trail.

O’Neill takes over the reigns on Monday, so Eric Black will be at the helm for this one and it promises to be a real scrap.

The stats reveal that Wolves are unbeaten in their last five home matches in this fixture (W2, D3) since a 1-0 defeat in February 1998.

Sunderland have lost their last three matches against Wolves, and neither side has manged to keep a clean sheet in the last 10 meetings between them.

However the Black Cats have won two and drawn three of their seven games against club’s in the bottom half of the table, and that suggests to me that they are capable of grinding out a share of the spoils against Mick Mccarthy’s men.

Sky Bet and Bodog go a top priced 12/5 about the draw, and that looks too big given that some firms go just 9/4.

Also, given the aforementioned fact that both sides find it nigh on impossible to keep a clean sheet in this fixture the standout 4/5 with bet365 about both teams scoring has to be worth a wager.
