Wyldfire hot stuff at 6/1

Wyldfire runs of a career-low mark in the 5.10 at Redcar today and is strongly fancied at 6/1 to take advantage and land the spoils.

The gelding has just one success to his name, with that success coming in a maiden over course and distance last April off an official rating of 72 when trained by Richard Fahey.

He went on to finish third in class 4 handicap at Beverley off 71, and also finished third to Broughton in the class 4 handicap at Chester off the same rating.

The four-year-old’s form then tailed off badly, but his handicap mark has plumetted as a result.

Now in the care of Ruth Carr, Wyldfire now runs off a mark of just 52 having hinted that he was returning to form when an eye-catching sixth of 11 to Testa Rossa at Ayr last time out.

He stayed on well under tender handling to be beaten 4 3/4 lengths, and if he can build on that is going to take the world of beating in this class 6 affair.

Another plus is that his handler is in good form, and with James Sullivan in the saddle everything looks in place for him to score an overdue success.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 5pts win Wyldfire (6/1 Hills – BOG)
