Felix Leiter has dropped to a handy mark and makes plenty of appeal at 25/1 in the 4.40 at York today.

Karl Burke’s gelding landed a hat-trick of successes as a juvenile, and the last of those victories came over course and distance off a mark of 82 when he ran on strongly to land a competitive 14-runner nursery by 1/2 a length.

He got put up 6lb for that win, and altough he is yet to trouble the judge on four runs this season he has shaped quite nice on a couple of occasions.

They include when a 5 3/4 length seventh of 10 to subsequent Sprint cup winner Twilight Son on seasonal reapperance at Newmarket off 87, and when fourth behind a trio of next time up winner last time out at Haydock off 84.

The later suggested Felic Leiter was coming to the boil, and he has since been dropped 2lb to 82.

He is now just 1lb higher than whne last victorious ocer CD, and that gives him a big shout at the weights if taking another step forward.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Felix Leiter (25/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
