Queensbury middleweight champion Ben Davies says he is ready to face one of the toughest challenges of his career next month when he returns to the UK’s toughest boxing competition.
The reigning national champion from Redhill in Surrey will meet undefeated London based challenger Davide Jesus Bosco in the main event of the promotions biggest show of the season on Saturday September 9th at the famous Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey.
Davies claimed the title back in April dethroning previous champion Joel Wanderema with a punch perfect display, and the champion believes his impending showdown will turn out to be one of this years most exciting fights.
“ From what I’ve seen of Bosco he loves to come forward and just grind his opponents down, but he’s never faced anyone as strong as me” Davies told DAILY SPORT Boxing
“I watched him beat previously undefeated contender Shockie Khan earlier this year and he looked good in doing so, but I’ve worked far too hard to let him come into my backyard and take my title away on September 9th”
After capturing his third title in the televised boxing series Davies has set his sights on challenging for the British title in his next contest if he can take care of Bosco, and local favourite Davies can not wait to lace the gloves back on and return to the arena he calls home.
“I love boxing at the Epsom racecourse, it’s where I’ve won some of the biggest fights of career”
“ I know Bosco is going to be a tough opponent and I won’t have to go looking for him, but me and the team have got the perfect plan to win”
“ My plan is to go in there and walk him down and beat him at his own game, and if I have to meet fire with fire I’ll be happy to stand toe to toe and go to war.
Davies national title defence will take place on Saturday September 9th at the Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and for ticket information call the box office on 0203 7518599.
