Paintball fancied to splatter Sandown rivals

Paintball shaped as if needing his comeback run and makes plenty of appeal at 7/1 in the 3.00 Sandown.

The gelding was well backed on his reappearance at Aintree but after travelling well for much of the journey and holding every chance ran out of steam to finish fifth to Rumble Of Thunder.

That run is sure to have put him spot on, and on the form he showed last season he would take all the beating in this.

Charlie Longsden’s gelding opened his account a the third time of asking when romping home at Ludlow before going on to finish a highly creditable 9th of 23 to What A Charm in the Fred Winter at the Cheltenham Festival.

He then rounded of the season with a victory at Prestbury Park where he scored with far more in hand than the winning margin of a length over Salontyre suggests.

That win came off a mark of 123, and given that he looks the type to go on improving his current mark of 130 certainly  looks very workable.

the booking of the very promising Kielan Woods also catches the eye, and the 7lb he takes off Paintball’s back is a major plus.

With conditions ideal and his yard in fine form a huge run looks on the cards.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Paintball (7/1 Ladbrokes – BOG, Boylesports)
