Wahaab has slipped to a dangerous mark and looks worth a wager at 13/2 to take advantage and score an overdue success in the 5.45 at Salisbury today.

The gelding was a smart juvenile when trained by Richard Hannon, winning on debut at Goodwood befiore finishing seventh of 15 to War Command in the Group 2 Coventry Stakes.

Things haven’t gone to plan since, but having initially been rated 91 the five-year-old is now able to race off just 57.

That gives him a huge chance on the pick of his form in this class 5 affair, and Wahaab – who is now in the care of Richard Hughes – comes into the contest on the back of an eye-cathing effort when fourth over 1m at Bath under this afternoon’s rider Nicola Currie.

The drop back to 6f may well see him in a far better light, and if bulding on his latest effort Wahaab looks weighted to take all the beating for a yard in fine form at present.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Wahaab (13/2 BetVictor, Boylesports, Ladbrokes, Paddy Power – BOG)
