16/1 Deepsand too big to ignore

Deepsand looks massively overpriced in the finale at York (4.45) and makes plenty of each-way appeal at 16/1

Tim Easterby’s charged shaped as if in need of the run when keeping on at the once pace to finish 6th of 11 on his seasonal reappearance last month and looks nicely treated off a mark of 78 judged on his form last season.

The son of Footsepsinthesand had a very progressive profile as a juvenile, finishing runner-up on his debut before opening his account at the second time of asking at Redcar.

He then followed up on his nursery debut when beating Nameitwhatyoulike by a head at Ayr and now meets that rival on 7lb better terms.

The gelding then ran a cracker to be beaten just over length into third here behind Red Quartet when trying to give him 6lbs.

On a line through the winner, who was giving Tartiflette 3lbs when they finished fifth and second respectively behind Gregorian at Newbury, there is very little to split the selection and the runner-up on today’s terms.

Tartiflette has to give Deepsand 5lbs today, and judge on his effort when trying to concede 6lbs to Red Quartet at this track there should not be such a big price differential between the pair.

I can’t see why Deepsand should be more than three times the price of that rival, and more than double the odds of Nameitwahtyoulike who he has the beating of on the book.

At 16s he is simply too big to ignore, and has to be worth an each-way punt.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Deepsand  (16/1 bet365, Hills, Ladrbokes – BOG)
