Normal Equilibrium has slipped to a dangerous mark and looks worth siding with at 7/1 in the 2.40 at Kempton today now eased in grade.

Robert Cowell’s gelding was last successful in a class 3 contest at Epsom back in April when scoring by a length off a mark of 84.

He went on to run some solid races, including when ninth of 17 to Duke of Firenze in a class 2 at York oof 89 and a 2 1/4 lengths fifth of 15 to Hary Hurricane off 88 in a similar grade affair at the same venue.

The six-year-old is now able to race off just 82, 2lb lower than when last successful, and his lowest rating since going handicapping.

It is also 10lb lower than when scoring on the polytrack surface at Chelmsford back in April 2015 and gives him outstanding claism at the weights on the pick of his form.

Altough below par in his last two runs, Normal Equilibrium has been given a break to freshen-up and has won twice in the past when such tatctics have been adopted.

He also nows drops down into class 4 comapny for just the secomd time in his career and with Pat Cosgrave in the saddle everything looks in place for a huge run.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Normal Equilibrium (7/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
