Olymnia looks worth siding with at 14/1 in the 1.30 at Lingfield today now stepped up in trip and fitted with blinkers for the first time having dropped to a basement mark.

Robert Eddery’s filly remains a maiden after 12 runs on the level, but has shown enough to suggest she should be capable of winning a race of this lowly nature.

The four-year-old kept on well to finish fourth of 11 to Blue Talisman over 1m 6f on handicap debut at Redcar last May when sent off the 7/2 second favourite off an opening mark of 61.

She has failed to build on that effort since, but didn’t tun too badly when seventh of 12 to Ragged Robbin at Kempton last August off 62 and is now able to race off just 48.

That makes her well-treated in this class 6 selling handicap judged on her run behind Blue Talisman, and the step up to 2m may well suit.

The fitting of the headgear for the first time is also an interesting move, that the fact that she was well-supported on handicap dbeut off 13lb higher suggests she was thought capable of better than she has shown of late and should be up to making an impact at this level.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Olymnia (14/1 bet365, BetVictor, Coral – BOG)
