Silken Express looks overpriced at 12/1 in the 4.45 at Wolverhampton today and makes plenty of each-way appeal.

Robert Cowell’s mare is a consistent sort who ahs won three of her 12 races and comes into the contest on the top of her game.

She scored in good style on her penultimate start at Southwell where she showed plenty of early pace before running on strongly to beat Even Stevens by 1 1/4 lengths off a mark of 89, and backed that up with a really solid effort over course and distance last time out off today’s mark of 95.

The five-year-old chased the leaders and stayed on strongly that day to be nearest at the finish and beaten just 2 lengths into third behind Swiss Cross and Mudiq.

She now meets those rivals on 5lb and 3lb better terms respectfully and that gives her a great chance of turning the tables with both.

The daughter of Speightstown also ran well to finish runner-up on hre only previous to the track, and looks the type who still has mnore to offer.

The booking of Tom Queally also catches the eye, and I can’t see why she is a much bigger price for this than Swiss Cross and Muhdiq.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Silken Express (12/1 Coral – BOG)
