12/1 Spanish Treasure too well-treated to ignore at Stratford

Spanish Treasure is potentially thrown-in at the weights in the 3.20 at Stratford today if rediscovering his form on his first start for the shrewd Sophieb Leech and looks worth siding with at 12/1.

The gelding had  some smart form to his name in 2011 when trained by Andy Turnell, winning twice and finishing a highly creditable 8th of 15 to Al Ferof in an ultra-strong renewal of the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

His last win at Worcester saw him easily beat Custer Of The West by 7 lengths off an official rating of 134, and he now gets into this off just 105.

That gives the eight-year-old outstanding claims at the weights on the pick of his form, and although he has been badly out of form of late he showed that he still retained ability when runner-up in a jumpers’ bumper at Kempton back in January.

He has now joined a yard that have done well with similar types, and with conditions fine and Paul Moloney in the saddle it would be no suprise to see him bounce back and run a huge race.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Spanish Treasure (12/1 Hills, BOG – adv 12/7/2014 )
