Fit The Bill and Kirby a potent combination

Fit The Bill is back down to a handy mark and looks worth siding with at 7/1 in the 1.30 at Lingfield today.

James Tate’s colt has won three of his 10 starts this season, including once over course and distance, and was last successful at Redcar in June when scoring by a head off a mark of 78.

The three-year-old got put up to 81 for that victory and has failed to trouble the judge in four subsequent outings.

However, he is now able to race off a reduced rating of 77 as a result – 1lb lower than when last successful.

That makes him weighted to run a huge race, and the return to the polytrack surface looks sure to suit.

Fit The Bill has won twice and been placed twice in seven starts on the polytrack surface, and another plus is that his handler has a strike rate of just over 31% at the venue in the past 12 months.

The booking of Adam Kirby also catches the eye as he has a strike rate of 44% when teaming up with the yard in the same period (8 wins and 3 placed from 18 rides).

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Fit The Bill (7/1 William Hill – BOG)
