The 1m 2f handicap on this evening’s card at Chelmsford (6.50) is a hot race featuring some unexposoed types but I can’t let Pactolus go unbacked at the 33/1 on offer.
Stuart Williams’ six-year-old is a four time winner at the track and is 2-4 over course and distanvce.
He was last successful at Wolverhampton off a mark of 92 back in February and ran really well fourth starts back over course and distance when a 2 1/4 length third to subsequent Group 3 winner Poet’s Word in a class 2 contest off his current mark of 95.
That is solid form is relation to thsi class 3 affair and Pactolus will appreciate the step back up to 1m 2f and return to the polytrack having not run too badly last time out over 1m at Sandown when eighth.
He has a 27% strike rate on the surface and with Aaron Jones in the saddle taking off 3lb with his claim is effectively running off the saem mark as when last victorious.
At the odds on offer he looks worth an each-way wager.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Pactolus (33/1 BetVictor, Coral – BOG)
